About Us
"Welcome Family, Friends and Neighbors"
Founded in 1988 by Nadine Mills, The Fabric Peddler is backed with 20 years of industry experience. I started by making custom clothing and specializing in lingerie for men, women and children. Later I fell in love with Quilting.
My fascination with the "Love of Sewing" began very early in my life. I first learned to sew from my grandmother; she gave me my first sewing machine. My grandmother made hats and sold them at church.
When I attended Maryland Park Junior High School, in Capitol Heights, Maryland, sewing was a mandatory requirement for all seventh graders.
Classes were for the entire school year.
Today the kids may have only a few months. You cannot learn to sew, not even the basics in that amount of time. I am really disappointed with the budget cuts in our school systems. The sewing curriculum has been discontinued in many of our schools and I know so many of our children are interested in learning how to sew. I feel that children who sew achieve a sense of accomplishment, and it's nothing more satisfying than creating a project that you have made with your own hands. Sewing can provide real life skills and builds self-esteem.
The Fabric Peddler provides top-notch service along with great customer support - a combination that can't be beat!
Through our commitment, experience, and expertise The Fabric Peddler has established a business relationship with our customers that will last a lifetime!
